Image
Many bloggers and enthusiastic entertainment pen-pushers have made several attempts to identify the actress that has the biggest boobs in Nollywood and many of them have come up short. But there seems to be one person most of them believe the crown befits – Cossy! Yeah, good old Cossy would, without much doubts, come to mind because her boobs are almost always out there for all to see. But on a location in Owerri recently, even Cossy took off her hat to another actress, conceding defeat. Of course it is Saraphina Onyeakachi Amaechi “ Yes, there was boobs competition which I won. But I must confess Saraphina is bigger than me. I only won the contest because she failed a question and I was the next best and more enlightened, so, I won” says Cossy when asked what it was like going head to head with Saraphina. No doubt Saraphina’s boobs are there for all to see and it doesn’t appear there is much she could do to hide them, but she would tell you she doesn’t like flaunting them. “Many

Image
President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday commended Nigerian Armed Forces’ resolve to speedily end insurgency and all forms of terrorist activities in the country. Army The president gave the commendation while addressing officers, troops and newly commissioned cadets at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna. He stated that the Federal Government was pleased with the Armed Forces’ resolve to end the insurgency facing the country once and for all. He emphasised that the rule of law applied to the Armed Forces as much as any other institution in the country. “I wish to remind you of the Federal Government’s commitment to overhaul the rules of engagement and improve operational and legal mechanisms so that disciplinary steps are taken against proven human rights violations by the armed forces. “We are co

Lesbians wouldn’t let me rest on Facebook – Ella Mensah

Image
Sexy Ella Mensah is a Ghanaian actress who spends most of her time in Nigeria. A mother of one, Ella came to Nigeria to shoot a film and ended up shooting five other films back-to-back.  Now, she is seen more as a Nollywood actress than a Ghollywood one. To drive home this fact, the actress permanently has on her Blackberry, a personal message “Hottest Ghanaian actress in Nollywood”. Hot and wild as they come, Ella doesn’t set rigid rules for herself. As an actress, the Ghanaian beauty takes on roles many of her colleagues wouldn’t dare. Getting really romantic and sensual on set is to Ella what candy is to a child and she has even played as a lesbian, a role many wouldn’t touch. “Oh yes, I’ve played a couple of them, a lot of them.  October is going to be exactly three years  I’ve been in the movie industry, and I think the second movie I ever shot in Nigeria, was a lesbian movie. It’s called ‘Gone Girl’ where I played as Amanda Ebeye’s lesbian partner. I’ve played a couple of lesb

Public shuns Mayweather’s welterweight bout

Image
Hundreds of tickets were still available Friday less than 24 hours before Floyd Mayweather’s welterweight world title defense, an embarrassing blow to the champion for what he says will be his last fight. It is in stark contrast to the feverish anticipation for May’s showdown with Manny Pacquiao, when all seats at the MGM Grand were snapped up in mere minutes. Mayweather Mayweather has attempted to drum up interest in Saturday’s bout at the same venue in Las Vegas by declaring challenger Andre Berto — rated by many pundits as a massive underdog — a genuine threat. Berto’s respected trainer, Virgil Hunter, has talked up “personal issues” between the two fighters. But it would appear that the paying public are not buying it. The lukewarm interest from fight fans will be particularly galling for Mayweather, 38, because victory over Berto would put him equal with heavy legend Rocky Marciano with a perfect 49-0 record. Ticketmaster was still offering several hundred tickets for betw

Father jailed for killing son, 3, with a washing machine

A French father who stuffed his son into a washing machine and then surfed the internet as the toddler died was jailed for 30 years on Friday. Christophe Champenois, 36, rammed three-year-old Bastien into the device and switched it on, allegedly as punishment for misbehaviour. The child’s 29-year-old mother, Charlene Cotte, told investigators she did a puzzle with her daughter, and Champenois used the internet while their son screamed inside the whirring washing machine. She was jailed for 12 years, for “aiding and abetting murder and violence”. Cotte said that when her ex-husband removed Bastien from the machine and noticed he was no longer breathing, he said: “At least he won’t bother us anymore.” It was Champenois himself who called emergency services in the town of Germigny-l’Eveque, east of Paris, in November 2011, saying he had a “small problem” as his son had fallen down the stairs. Champenois said he had given his son a bath and that the child must have drowned because he

against corruption, calling their open demonstration of support for the Federal Government’s battle against corruption a major boost to the anti-graft fight. In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said Nigerian workers’ unambiguous stand against corruption is also a clear repudiation of all those who have attempted to politicize the battle either by insinuating selectivity or saying the government should face governance instead of dwelling on the fight against corruption. ”Thursday’s nationwide demonstrations by Nigerian workers and the Civil Society in support of the anti-corruption battle is the clearest indication yet that corruption is now seen for what it is, a vice to be condemned and punished rather than something to be venerated and celebrated. The growing intolerance for corruption among Nigerians is also a clear example of what a nation can achieve under a committed, sincere, purposeful and focused leader

Over alleged arms YUKUGBENE – Soldiers  from the 19th  Battalion, Koko, Delta State, raided Yukugbene community in Warri North Local Government Area of the state and apprehended a pregnant woman and a cripple for allegedly being in possession of firearms and ammunition. A security source told Saturday Vanguard that soldiers who stormed the community in search of suspected pirates/kidnappers that escaped into the bush, recovered arms and ammunition from the woman and the cripple. However, the Ijaw People Development Initiative, IPDI, faulted the claim that the pregnant woman, Madam Loveth Odibo and physically –challenged Friday Gbangbara were criminals and that soldiers found arms and ammunition with them. Similarly, the Conference for the Actualization of Human Rights, which has petitioned the Chief of Army Staff, disputed the allegation. He just told me to find my way out of his house. As a non-stipendiary, I had to appeal to people of good heart to bail me out of my burden of giving birth to albinos. However, through thick and thin I managed to get enough money for transport to take me to my home at Mugongo where I now live with my children," De

Image
TEN years after, the anger arising from the impeachment and subsequent imprisonment of former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamie-yeseigha by former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration is still reverberating even though Alamieyeseigha claims he has forgiven Obasanjo. Alamieyeseigha, who spoke to Saturday Vanguard in his country home in Yenagoa, said that he had forgiven all those who plotted and sent him to jail purely for political reasons even though the experience remains very painful to him. The former governor was impeached and removed from office in December 2005 and was subsequently sent to jail for alleged mismanagement of Bayelsa State funds. Some of his property alleged to have been secured with stolen funds in and outside Nigeria were confiscated and given to Bayelsa State by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) working in conjunction with foreign security agencies. Hajj: 107 die in crane collapse in Mecca

A massive construction crane crashed into Mecca’s Grand Mosque in stormy weather on Friday, killing at least 107 people and injuring 238, Saudi authorities said, days before the annual hajj pilgrimage. The civil defence agency said on Twitter that emergency teams were sent to the scene after a “crane fell at the Grand Mosque,” one of Islam’s most revered sites. That came about an hour after it tweeted that Mecca was “witnessing medium to heavy rains,” and pictures on social media showed lightning. Ahmed bin Mohammad al-Mansoori, spokesman for the two holy mosques, was quoted by the official Saudi Press Agency as saying part of a crane collapsed at 5:10 pm (1410 GMT) “as a result of strong winds and heavy rains.” Abdel Aziz Naqoor, who said he works at the mosque, told AFP he saw the crane fall after being hit by the storm. “If it weren’t for Al-Tawaf bridge the injuries and deaths would have been worse,” he said, referring to a covered walkway that surrounds the hol

Four killed in Burundi gun attack

At least four people were killed on Friday when gunmen ambushed the Burundian army’s chief of staff in a failed assassination attempt. According to a morgue source, three soldiers and three gunmen were killed in the early morning attack in the capital Bujumbura. The source said that an army pick-up brought four bodies to the morgue. However, the main target Gen. Prime Niyongabo survived the attack. Niyongabo is the highest-ranking official to be targeted in a series of attacks on officials since April when President Pierre Nkurunziza announced he was seeking a third term. Nkurunziza’s relection bid continue to raise tension as the opposition says it will violate the constitution and a peace deal that ended an ethnically charged civil war in 2005. Earlier this week, gunmen shot dead an opposition official and in August Gen. Adolphe Nshimirimana, who was in charge of the president’s personal security, was killed in an ambush. Nkurunziza was sworn in on Aug. 20 for anoth

Buhari going in the right direction

Oh, I like President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership style, leading by example, walking the talk,” said Paul, a commuter in the Apapa-bound bus. “Yes oo bros, shame to all the naysayers, the bad belle people. At least the man and his vice have publicly declared their assets. I wish others will follow suit,” said Jimoh. Replied Paul: “Senator Shehu Sani has also declared his assets.” “Story, story, story. Once upon a time! Why do we behave like a bunch of illiterates without thinking faculty? You will not cease to amuse me. Declare assets ni, declare assets ko! Abegi, make we talk beta thing,” said Tony. “Which past leader has done that? For God’s sake, give credit where it is due and criticise where necessary. The man has done well,” said Jimoh. “Ok oo, I am not going to argue with you but it is laughable that a man that told us a few months ago that he was so poor that he had to borrow money from the bank to purchase his party’s nomination form, suddenly has about N

PMB : SLOW BUT STEADY

AS the Muhammadu Buhari presidency clocks 100 days in office, it is interesting to note that the actions of the government which is yet to appoint Ministers and other top officials of government is no longer the focus of negative criticism by Nigerians who think and expect that things should be done differently from the way President Buhari have chosen. The subtle criticism that were building has petered and given way to admiration and awe at how the slow and steady approach of the President is yielding results and heralding Change. The point to note is that it is too early to start to take stock of a government that has a four year mandate when it has barely been in the saddle for only a mere hundred days. The journey of four years however can be evaluated in terms of its future progress and ending by what has happened in the first one hundred days. Looking at the one hundred days of Muhammadu Buhari, it can be said that he has started well and is doing well, laying
