Popular musician, Innocent Idibia aka 2Face, has advised youths in Kogi not to engage in violence before, during and after the Nov. 21 governorship election. He gave the advice on Thursday in Lokoja during the 2face Idibia official launch of “Vote Not Fight; Election No Be War” Campaign. Evan Rodriguez,19, is facing multiple charges after telling his ex-girlfriend that she had to have sex with him or else he would post her private nude photos on social media.Rodriguez was arrested on Wednesday, October 7, on charges of extortion, sexual cyber harassment, stalking and resisting an officer with violence. According to an arrest report, the victim contacted an academic adviser at Miami-Dade College's Homestead Campus. The responding officer said Rodriguez called the victim at least 15 times and sent her more than 20 text messages while the officer was in the adviser's office. Police said Rodriguez texted the woman that he was outside the campus waiting for her and that he would post the photos if she did not come out and have sex with him.Backup officers were called to the school and saw Rodriguez sitting on a bench holding his cellphone. Is Ebola coming back? A British nurse who contracted Ebola in Sierre Leone is back in hospital today after falling ill with the deadly virus for a second time. Pauline Cafferkey, 39, was flown from Glasgow back to the Royal Free Hospital in north London by the RAF this morning, ten months after she first recovered from the illness. The NHS nurse was wheeled from a jet at RAF Northolt by medics in hazard suits on a bed surrounded by a protective bubble before police closed roads so her ambulance could rush her to the nearby hospital. She is said to have developed an 'unusual late complication' as a result of the original Ebola infection and tests have revealed that the virus is still lingering in her body.  Miss Cafferkey is now back in the isolation unit where she spent a month and became critically ill after being diagnosed with Ebola last December. Security agents in Zimbabwe have allegedly detained two Nigerian pastors and blocked their leader, Chris Okafor – who last year prophesied President Robert Mugabe’s death – from entering the country, reports said today, reports Zimbabwean News Day. Argentina and Barcelona star Lionel Messi and his father Jorge are to stand trial on three counts of tax fraud that could carry prison sentences, a Spanish court confirmed on Thursday. In a court filing, the judge in charge of the case rejected a request by the public prosecutor to try only the footballer’s father. Ebola Scare: We are still awaiting results of patient's blood samples - Cross River

The Cross River Government says it is awaiting results of blood samples of a patient, who died at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) with symptoms of viral hemorrhagic fever. Dr Sunday Omini, Director of Public Health in the state Ministry of Health, said this on Thursday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Calabar. Omini was reacting to media reports that a suspected Ebola patient died in UCTH on Wednesday. “We are aware of the situation and we have got preliminary reports from the hospital, and we are all awaiting the result of the blood samples. “But judging from the information I have received so far, I am 90 per cent sure that it is not Ebola. “`However, we are on top of the situation, there is no cause for alarm,’’ he said. Three-year-old Tran Truong Thinh suffered serious injuries after being bitten by the family's pet dog. Doctors at the Ho Chi Minh City Children’s Hospital performed surgery after he was brought to the hospital on Tuesday, October 5, with 19 wounds on his face, Dr Nguyen Van Dau said. According to his parents, the attack occurred at around 7 a.m. when the boy was waiting to be taken to school. Their pet dog suddenly pounced on him after he played with it with a flyswatter.Doctors said the four most severe wounds were on his lower lips, cheek and ear and it took two hours to put in a total of nearly 200 stitches.

Imo courts, Assembly complex shut as workers begin indefinite strike

O WERRI— Scores of litigants and their lawyers went home disappointed yesterday, following the indefinite industrial action by the Imo State leadership of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN. The  aggrieved workers downed tools as a result of what they termed “the apparent unwillingness of Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, to comply with the ruling of the Federal High Court judgment on the financial autonomy of the judiciary”. According to the release by the leadership of the body, JUSUN explained their action stemmed from the State Government’s inability to respond to legitimate demands. In declaring the indefinite industrial action, the union  directed “all the offices of the courts and the State Judicial Service Commission, to remain under lock and key, until further notice”.
