Nicki Minaj getting ready for her own show on ABC

Big congratulations to rapper Nicki Minaj who is set to star in and executive produce a new half-hour comedy series not on BET, or MTV or O Network but for ABC Family.

Nicki's own life is providing the inspiration as the show will talk about her own rise to musical stardom including her family's move from Trinidad in the early 1990s when she was very young to her upbringing in Queens, New York.




“This is one of the more unique adventures I've ever embarked on,” Minaj said in a statement. “I couldn't be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.”



 Nicki is currently launching a nation wide search in the US to find a young Nicki.

Production will begin in Minaj's hometown of Queens, N.Y., later in the year.

Man set ablaze for stealing a woman pot of soup

CALABAR—A mob in Calabar, Cross River State capital, yesterday, butchered a young man and set the remains on fire beside Atu Secondary School fence along Goldie Street, for allegedly robbing a woman of a pot of soup. His two accomplices escaped. The hoodlum, in the company of two others, were alleged to have attacked the woman at Mayne Avenue Extension in Calabar South. They were allegedly attracted by the aroma of the soup the woman was warming for her family’s breakfast before heading for early morning mass at nearby St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. A young man, who lives in the same premises with the lady, said as the robbers were about to get out of the compound with the pot of soup, the woman raised the alarm, prompting neighbours to go after them. A self-acclaimed member of Eiye confraternity yesterday gave a graphic description of how he murdered one of his rivals during a birthday party held in Mushin area of Lagos last week. Arrested alongside the 22-year-old suspect was his alleged accomplice. The deceased, a commercial motorcyclist, identified as Sura Abiola Lateef, was reportedly attacked along with his friend, when they stepped out to buy sachet water. While his friend, identified as Rilwan, was said to have managed to escape with a deep cut in the neck, same could not be said of Lateef, who was stabbed in different parts of his body and abandoned in the pool of his blood and he bled to death. Briefing newsmen on activities of cultists in the state, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, said the command had launched a manhunt for cultists, disclosing that over 20 suspected cultists had been arrested between October 18 and 21, 2015.
